Said another way, willingness to live for our dreams and willingness to die for our dreams are the same level of commitment. Saying the former without meaning the latter is self-delusion. The world keeps us in place by teaching us to worry more about staying alive than living; and every compromise is at its core a choice of the physical/biological self over the spiritual self.
